Successful goal achievement provides many benefits. Fulfillment, improved lifestyle and self respect are a few. Sometimes goals are missed because of common reasons. Here are three.
1-Not Setting the Right Goal. If you do not give the goal setting exercise some deep thought then you can end up pursuing the wrong objective. This leads to frustration and failure.
Solution: Pick a goal that matters to you. Your desire fuels your motivation towards you hitting your goal. Layout the reasons why you want it and make sure these reasons will motivate you to act.
2-Not Taking Action. When you don’t take action on your goals you lose initiative. Your goals begin to matter less and less. Eventually they become a memory of something that was once nice to have.
Solution: Once you know what you want and you have a plan for getting it take massive action. Begin to work on what you can do. Do not concern yourself with what you can’t do. Instead focus on what you can do and do it. You will gain experience and the necessary skills if you continue to put in the work.
3-Not Listening to The Right People. There is no need to always ask others what they think. Seeking outside opinions has its place, but only in certain instances. All of your friends are not motivated by the same desires that you have. Friends who have different aspirations than yours may talk you out of pursuing your goal rather than lending their support. They probably mean well, but they just don’t have the same objectives as you. If that is the case then you should be wary of taking their advice.
Solution: Be careful who you listen to. Get advice from people who have done what you want to do. You can also listen to people who have earned your respect and have supported you in the past. Keep your plans to yourself as much as possible.
