Being stuck in a rut is not fun. As a matter of fact it can be down right miserable and frustrating. You come to point where you hate where you are, but no matter what you do you seem to wind up right back where you started.
Here are three steps to take in order to get out of that rut and get on with your life.
1- Understand that you are where you are either because of inaction or because you continue take the wrong action. Your current results come from the effects of your past actions. In order to successfully change your results you must change your actions.
Look at your live and decide which area you most want to change. It could be your relationship, your career, your physical conditioning or your financial situation.
2- Once you identify the most important area then decide on what is the most important action that you need to change your current situation for the better. Be sure you don’t fool yourself. You want o make the most effective change, not the most convenient one. Use the old “yank the band aide off” analogy. When removing a band aide you want to yank it off rather than peeling it off slowly and prolonging the pain. Take the most important step and do it as soon as possible.
3-Repeat the process. Build up momentum with repeated actions towards changing one area of your life then move on to the others in order of importance.
Do this over and over again and within six months to a year you barely recognize the person staring back at you in the mirror. The changes will be dramatic and you will feel more fulfilled as a result. You will be in the active mode of changing in a positive manner on a consistent basis.
