Associating with negative people. You become like the people you hang around. Complaining personalities and pessimistic attitudes are contagious. Solution: Change your associations if you are continually around negative people. Avoid spending time with people who are always complaining or pointing out what cannot be done. You want to be the opposite type of person so befriend people who are the way you want to be. They will inspire you to do great things. You will feel motivated by just spending time with them.

In order to succeed it is best to surround yourself with successful people. People who are going somewhere and doing things with their lives provide you with inspiration. They also give you a model to pattern your work habits after.
Limit your exposure to negative, pessimistic people. They drain you of your initiative. They will always remind of what can’t be done. They don’t encourage you to strive for lofty goals. Instead the usually ridicule you and put you down for trying to do things to improve your situation.
