The successful achievement of our goals is totally within our control.

This is great news. Our success is dictated by our work ethic and our attitude. And these are two things that we have complete control over.

“If it is to be… it’s up to me!” ~ Johnsen, William

If we are willing to do what ever it takes to hit our goals then it’s just a matter of time before we will achieve them

It’s just a matter of making a decision to pursue a dream or goal and the committing to doing the work.

In that sense, our fate is in our hands.

Success does not have to be complicated.

SUCCESS BEGINS WITH A DECISION!

Once you make a decision to move in a certain direction and you commit to doing what it takes to achieve your dreams you are already successful.

Success is the progressive realization of a worthy dream, goal, or ideal. As long as you are still in the hunt you in the succeeding.

That is a reason to be happy now. You don’t have to wait until you get something or you arrive at your desired destination. You can be happy that you are on the road to achieving your dreams.

You’ve made a decision to succeed if…

- You spend all of your available time working

        on your goals…
- You think about your dream all of the time…
- You’re motivated to do what needs to

done and you do it… No Excuses!

Can you check off these three indicators?

If not, leave your comments. Let me know where you’re struggling.

Don’t let failure stop you. Use it to build your competence and skills. Practice makes perfect and the more you practice the more your confidence will increase.

“Success is never permanent, and failure is never final.” Mike Ditka.

Look at each failure as a stepping stone to your eventual success. Even the most famous people in the world failed before they went on to accomplish great and noteworthy achievements. Some of them have stories that you can relate to as result of the failed attempts that you have experienced with your goals.

Here is an inspiring video which demonstrates the power of persistence in the face of failure.

By Anthony D Carter

Successful goal achievement requires steady effort. In order to hit your goals you will need to develop perseverance. Here are 3 ways to improve your perseverance.

Readjust your plan-When faced with repeated failure it easy to get discouraged. You may even feel like quitting. When you get knocked down over and over again it is hard to keep getting back up. So often it is not brute force that you need, but a new perspective.

When you are so close to the battle that you can’t see the forest for the trees you need to take a step back. Take a look at your results. Figure out what is working and what is not working. Then reexamine your plan. Is your plan a feasible plan? Most of the time you can only formulate a good plan after you have gotten sub par results from the original plan.

When Thomas Edison was asked if he was frustrated by failing so many times in his attempt to invent the light bulb he said, “I do not feel like I have failed.” “We now know a thousand ways not to build a light bulb.”

Reduce your goal- Break your big goal up into smaller pieces. A goal to lose 50 pounds in 10 months can be a daunting goal on the surface. But if you break it down to a goal of losing 5 pounds ever month over the next ten months then you have a goal that looks achievable.

When you set goals that require sustained effort you need to have small goals which lead to your big goal. That way as you are victorious with each of the smaller goals you gain confidence, momentum and excitement. This fuels your motivation and keeps you focused on moving forward.

Reward yourself- Celebrate your victories. Stop to recognize the many successes that you achieve along the way to hitting your goal.

These rewards can be simple. For example you can take the day off after you have reached a milestone in your journey. You could have a desert if you have successfully stuck to your diet and worked out for 21 consecutive days.

Be creative come up with ways to reward yourself for staying on track. Include others in your celebration. You can get your whole family involved. Tell them, in advance, that you plan on doing something special when you hit a certain goal.

Not only will your family start cheering for you to succeed, but they will begin doing things to help and encourage you to accomplish your goal. This extra support can be just what you need. It can make a difference between exhilarating success and monotonous failure.

By Anthony D Carter

Goal achievement happens when you take certain steps to insure your success. You can succeed at hitting your goals if you keep these seven tips in mind.

Dream Big. Let yourself go. Do not put limits on yourself. Act as if you had the money or time to do what you want. Then write down everything that you want to be, do, or have in your life. Just brainstorm as if anything were possible for you. After you finish, segment your dreams into the logical categories that they would naturally fit in. Next you want to set a goal in each of those areas. And it is important that you write each of your goals down.

Put a date on it. The date is the activating mechanism for your goal. It is the thing that gives you the sense of urgency that you will need. Without a deadline you have no anticipated date of achievement. This makes it easy for the debilitating habit of procrastination to take hold.

Take Action. Get started. Nothing significant happens until you actually take action. You can dream about it. You can think about it. You can talk about it. But until you actually begin taking the steps to make your dreams come true your goal will remain a wish.

Build in Accountability. Get a partner that you can be accountable to. It helps to have someone who will hold you to your word. They can also give you encouragement and feedback. This can help you stay inspired and on track. For additional benefits become a part of a mastermind team. When you have another person on your team you can get better results because of the synergy that normally flows between two people with the same aim.

Be Patient. As the saying goes Rome wasn’t built in a day. And it is highly unlikely that you will set a goal and wake up the next day to see that you have hit it without any effort whatsoever. So give it time. Your efforts will yield benefits that compound over time. Eventually you will see the fruits of your labor. Remember, first there is sowing season, then comes growing season and lastly, there is harvest season

Visualize it Often. See your goal as already accomplished. Visualize what you want. The better you can picture what you want the stronger the magnetic pull will be that draws it to you.

“Picture yourself vividly as winning and that alone will contribute
immeasurably to success. Great living starts with a picture,
held in your imagination, of what you would like to do or be.”
~ Harry Emerson Fosdick

See yourself successfully accomplishing your goal as often as you can throughout the day. This builds your expectancy level as it programs your subconscious to direct you towards what you want.

Reward Yourself. Celebrate when you succeed with any part of your goals. Do not wait until you have hit your goal to celebrate. Reward yourself for hitting certain milestones along the way. If you have a goal to lose 20 pounds in 90 days it will help you if you took a break to do something fun after you lost 10 pounds in 45 days. This builds your endurance and keeps you excited.

Goal achievement goes hand and hand with successful living. Setting goals helps you to accomplish great things. In order to hit the goals that you set keep these 5 keys in mind.

Write. Be sure to write your goals down. It has been said that the palest ink is better than the sharpest memory. When you write your goals down you start the process towards causing them to materialize in your life. A written statement of what you are striving to be, do, or have can keep you focused and on track.

Read. Reading your goals everyday helps to keep your attention centered on what you are trying to accomplish. If you do not continue to read your goals regularly the daily situations and circumstances will pull your focus in opposite directions.

Affirm. Speak positive affirmations. When you speak affirmations you help to impress your goal onto your subconscious mind. Speaking affirmations also help you to center your focus on what you want and off of what you don’t want.

Visualize. Create mental pictures of what you want to accomplish. You will have a easier time hitting your goals if you can visualize the end result that you desire. A vision board helps too. When you visualize what you want you trick your subconscious mind into believing that actually have what you want. The more that you can do that the more your subconscious will guide you to solutions for overcoming your obstacles.

Persist. Above all you need persistence in order to realize your dreams. You must stick it out even when you don’t get the quick results. As long as your plan is sound and you are consistently doing the work you will eventually succeed in hitting your goals.

Think on Paper -Write it out. As you brainstorm ideas for your goal write them down. It is easy to forget a brilliant idea if you don’t record it at the moment that you conceive it. Put all of your ideas down where you can see them. Decide what your goal will be and map out your plan. Also plan for the obstacles that you can anticipate seeing along the way. By writing your thoughts down you save time and effort down the road. When you are faced with challenges that you have already anticipated and solved you are able to be more efficient in the pursuit of your goal.

One At A Time-Pick one goal and go with it. Settle on one goal rather than multiple goals. When you have single minded purpose you are able to stay on track. This eliminates unnecessary distractions normally experienced by people who stretch themselves too thin with multiple and competing objectives. You are able to set and hit your goal quicker. When you only have one objective it is easier to recognize whether or not your efforts are centered on it.

Duplicate Success-Study people who have done what you want to do and use their game plan. That successful person has already demonstrated the soundness of their plan and goal. Take their experience and learn from it. In order to get what they have you need ony do what they did. This saves you the time and frustration.

Make the Dream Connection-Link your goal to your dream.

By Anthony D Carter

Goal achievement seems elusive to many. Setting the goal is the beginning. Working towards hitting the goal is the middle. And the actual achievement is the end. Each of the steps are filled with potential stumbling blocks. Here is a way to achieve your goals and eliminate many of the common setbacks which stop you from hitting your goals.

Break your goals up into long term, medium and short term.

Long Term
These goals should be projected out 2 years or so. They are major goals that take time to complete. Some good examples are earning a college degree, buying a home, or starting a family. A long term goal provides you with a long range target and all of your other goals should line up with this main objective.

Short Term
These are your first steps that you will need to take in order to realize your long term goal. Brainstorm the actions that you need to take in order to meet your long term objectives. Map out a plan. You should come up with small steps that you can take over time in order to accomplish your goal. Be sure these are tasks that you can actually do. Once you are clear on what is required and you have a plan written out then you can move to the next step. Begin to develop daily work habits and take consistent action on them. This assures the eventual achievement of your main goal.

Medium Term
These form the bridge to your long term aspirations. If you are trying to buy a home then your medium term goal could be to have a down payment saved or to get all negative marks off of your credit report. Achieving success with your medium term goal should set you up to hit your long term goal. It can be viewed as a mile post half way to the actual accomplishment of your long term goal.
