In order to succeed it is best to surround yourself with successful people. People who are going somewhere and doing things with their lives provide you with inspiration. They also give you a model to pattern your work habits after.
Limit your exposure to negative, pessimistic people. They drain you of your initiative. They will always remind of what can’t be done. They don’t encourage you to strive for lofty goals. Instead the usually ridicule you and put you down for trying to do things to improve your situation.
Negative people are all around you. Some of them are even family members and lifelong friends. So be weary of who you choose to associate with on a regular basis.
If you cannot find positive people to associate with personally. Associate with successful people through books. Read biographies of famous people. You can find plenty biography books at your local library.
Purchase personal development audio and video programs. Learn from them. When you are driving in your car listen to these self help programs rather than the radio. In a matter of days you will see opportunities where before you only saw problems. You will learn skills for accomplishing the major aspirations in your life.
If you can find a mentor you will gain valuable insight into the principles of success. This person can show you ways to get what you want faster because of the wisdom she possesses. There is nothing like learning from someone who has already done what you aspire to do. You also get support and the benefit of using their experience. Talk to them. Ask them questions and follow their advice very closely.
